My current company offers a defined benefit pension plan and a 401k. I am considering changing jobs to be closer to family and friends. The new position comes with a higher salary, but no Pension plan, only a 401k. How to I determine the value of losing a pension in order to invest that amount, if possible, to make up for the losse with a higher salary at my new employer?
