Welcome to another week of Weekend Investing Reading (WIR). The past week was wild once again as most of the week saw losses until Thursday’s big reversal. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq both shot pass new lows established in mid October. With consumer even weaker than expected, confidence is really at an all time low. Who knows when the market will bottom but there are many people saying that if we buy investments now, we might look stupid in 1-2 weeks, maybe even months but in 1-2 years, we will look smart. Do you trust them? I know that whatever the market does, I am just going to regularly invest my money into the market because I’m in it for the long term and not in the mood to trade.
Now on to a happier subject. Let’s educate ourselves about investing by reading other people’s wisdom in this topic!
- Bull Bear Markets thinks we should only invest in the right environment and sit on our hands on every other ones. What do you think about that?
- On the other hand, ABCs of Investing believes we should only time the market for the right reasons. Which camp are you in?
- The Oblivious Investor warns that we need to know the competition before we can beat the market.
- The Dividend Guy explains three things investors do to get into trouble.
